FAQs
What is balanced training?
Balanced training is a method of dog training that uses both rewards and consequence to communicate what behavior is acceptable, encouraged, and unacceptable.
Am I the right trainer for you?
I am the right trainer for you if you are looking for permanent behavior change for your dog and are willing to work as a team to make the changes necessary to continue training. Training is a lifestyle meaning training is done throughout the dogs life.
Do you guarantee results?
Go Go Dog Training doesn't guarantee results as training outcomes rely on the consistency and dedication of training by the owner. We do guarantee we will do everything we can to satisfy our customers. We want nothing more than to see you succeed!!!!
What tools do you use?
We have a very large tool box. We use food, pet cots, slip leads, prong collars, e-collars, longlines, toys, and tons of real world distractions. Every dog is different and responds differently to training. Its important to find what works best for each dog.
How much work do I need to do?
There will be work on your part to get your dog where it needs to be. We will be there every step of the way, but it will be a team effort. As long as you are willing to make changes and are consistent, the process will be simple. Training time is all the time. Your dog is always watching and learning from you.
What is the purpose of a prong collar?
A prong collar is the best way for a owner to communicate to their dog using a leash. It allows you to guide your dog using very gentle leash direction, which is not possible with a flat-buckle collar, harness, or gentle leader. Contrary to popular belief, prong collars are one of the safest collars on the market as they evenly disperse pressure and prevent tracheal damage that is common with choke chains and flat buckle collars.
Why do you use E-Collars?
Because modern e-collar training allows the very best communication and transferring of skills from trainer to owner. High quality e-collars are like a tens machine used for physical therapy in humans. So your dog feels a mild sensation that is not harming to them mentally or physically. Most dogs work at a level that most humans often can't feel. It is also the only way to safely have your dog off leash. What a great gift to give to your dog but off leash freedom. We use E-Collar Technologies.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you still have any questions about my work.
